Merry Christmas in advance!!! Tis the season to be jolly, and boy am I excited! I am sure you are too. This season and all its festivities got me thinking recently. There are some people interested in a Christmas wedding.

As unusual as it may seem, the season comes with its own advantages. So, if you just got engaged recently and feel like you might fancy a Christmas wedding here in Fort Worth, Texas, this is for you. Here are some pros and cons to bear in mind.

The Pros

⦁ The Atmosphere Is Fun
The joy, good tidings, and fun of Christmas make it a beautiful time for a wedding. Everyone at your wedding would be in the best of moods! Having your wedding at Christmas would capitalize on those feelings, and you’ll have a memorable celebration.

⦁ The Food Is Delicious
Christmas is one season with lots of delicious comfort foods. If you let the season influence your wedding catering, you’ll have a menu your guests will enjoy. Think of all the roasted turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potato mash, and pumpkin desserts. I am salivating just thinking about it. So will your wedding guests.

⦁ You’ll See Your Childhood Friends
If you plan your wedding in your hometown, the chances are that your high school friends will be around. This is because most people come home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You’ll have a special celebration with your extended family and childhood friends around.

⦁ It’ll Be Memorable
All of the things mentioned above are what lead to an unforgettable wedding. Having those dearest to you, delicious food, and a great atmosphere is the prime setting for a fabulous wedding. There is also the fact that every time Christmas comes around, you’ll have an extra celebration added to it. Fun, don’t you think?

The Cons

⦁ It can be expensive
Honestly, weddings can be expensive. A wedding during the summer, for example, is during what is known as peak wedding season, so the cost is bound to be high. Christmas weddings can also be surprisingly expensive.
This is because you’ll be having your celebration at a time when prices are raised to accommodate the holiday parties. This can cause a bit of a dilemma, mainly because your guests will also be buying gifts and spending for the holiday.

⦁ Your Stress Levels Will Go Up
Planning a wedding is no walk in the park. Christmas is equally as tasking too. Combining both could take some outrageous balancing skill that you might not have. That’s when the stress will start to come in.

⦁ You Might Have A Small Wedding
Now with the pandemic, this is not a bad thing, but it can hurt a bit. Everyone will have traveled home for the holidays, so if you’re not in your hometown, they might not be many people left. The commuting costs could also stop your guests from coming back for your celebration, only to go away for the holiday soon after.

⦁ You’ll Need A Serious Plan B
If you’ve seen all those winter wonderland wedding pictures and want them, heads up, it might not happen. Winter weather can be quite unpredictable. You may think you’ll get snow and get freezing rain instead. Be prepared for all eventualities, and please make adequate plans.
So, as you can see, your Christmas wedding has about the same number of pros as it has cons. If you’re considering getting married at this time of the year, you should be ready to handle the cons and check with your loved ones. In the end, it is your happiness and that of your partner that matters most. Best of luck!!!
